Big Slide Brewery & Public House的点评
点评：I have been contemplating this review for hours. I wrote and rewrote it, deleted and rewrote, but ultimately I can’t let this go. Every single year, for the last 14 years we make the 6 hour trek from Jersey to Lake placid for a winter family getaway. This is a time honored tradition, along with our stop at the Big Slide before our check in at the Whiteface… today was no different. Until it was. We checked the online wait list which said no wait. We get there and are told 30-40 min for our party of 7. No prob. Our kids are older and can handle the wait. However we are starving and did tell the hostess if she can break us up into two tables, great. There was one 4 top open…
Fast forward about 10 min and another group gets the 4 top. Ok… I keep my mouth shut. Then a large group of 6 walks in and gets seated at a “bar” area when asking if they can sit there. They have kids under 21 like us… I inquire… “is there a reason you didn’t sit is there? We have been waiting 20 plus min.” The reply in a curt tone “you didn’t ask.” ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? When someone asks to be placed at a table is that not asking for a seat? I’m on a list to sit with my family, that constitutes me wanting a table.
Manager walks over, very gently tells his hostess to speak a little nicer to me. He’s a nice manger bc I would have fired her on the spot. So much for the customer is always right. Those days are long gone… but one thing that’s nice is my ability to call ICE bc you know… I have some rights too. This hostess had the nerve to tell me it was her right to seat people where she wanted. She’s “in charge of the dining room.” So I took it upon myself to exercise my rights as an American today too. Good knowing you Big slide… sliding your way out of our lives.

经理走过来，非常温和地告诉女主人对我说些好听的话。他是个好经理，因为我会当场解雇她。顾客永远是对的。那些日子早已一去不复返了……但有一件事很好，那就是我有能力打电话给 ICE，因为你知道……我也有一些权利。这位女主人竟然厚颜无耻地告诉我，她有权让客人坐在她想坐的地方。她“负责餐厅”。所以今天我也主动行使我作为美国人的权利。很高兴认识你，大滑坡……从我们的生活里滑出去了。
