All-in-all, Disappointingly poor. So near, yet so far.
North Luangwa River Lodge & Camp的点评
点评：In the spirit of Full Disclosure, I have to declare that we have visited Zambia numerous times and stayed in Kafue NP, Lower Zambezi NP, Lusaka, South Luangwa NP AND North Luangwa NP, but only in Mwagusi areas, so had a pretty good idea what to expect - remote, peace, quiet, deep bush, wilderness, & rustic. All good stuff, but when there are numerous broken and/or cracked wooden steps and on the walkways, it smacks more of poor maintenance & neglect, than rustic. Protruding nails or screws should be fixed.
We were a self-drive Camping Party, so did not experience their Chalets (were not even shown round, which I thought odd - opportunity to showcase) or Catering or Beverages - nothing was ever offered, but we did NOT pre-book either. I did get a Coffee on one morning.
Game Drives - poor. 1st was switched to a walk because the other Guests wanted to do one. We were not asked nor informed until just before were to board the Jeep - so wrong attire and too much heavy kit to carry & no chance to discuss. 'Birds and Turds' Tours are fascinating & highly recommended, but some of the magic is lost by the 4th/5th.
2nd was targeted at BR's, so a decent drive & at pace was required to get there. However, we kept stopping to discuss the finer points of the 'Strangler Fig Life Story' (5/6 times) so this became a farce - Hurry-up and Wait. We drew a blank.
Location - super. Luangwa River's edge with fabulous Sunrises.
