Wilderness Desert Rhino Camp的点评
点评：Before coming here we stayed at Wilderness Damaraland Camp, which felt remote, but the location of this camp is even more 'out there', surrounded by golden grasslands and granite hills.
Be prepared for some rocky roads when exploring the area, and depending on their location, the search for desert rhinos can be a full day expedition with no guarantees - we linked up with the Save the Rhino Trust team after about four hours, and approached a young male black rhino on foot. It was a well managed encounter, and we did not stay long. Despite the rough roads, I loved this drive - at one point we were off road on a ridge above the confluence of two great sand rivers, their valleys full of trees, surrounded by wilderness to every horizon - spectacular. We also saw mountain zebra and ostrich along the way.
Wilderness include a few 'surprises' along the way, which were welcome. As others have said, our guide Kanu is excellent - his sharp eyes finding a family of rock martins in their nest. We also enjoyed a sunset stroll with him from camp, so nice to just listen to the sounds and enjoy the flat terrain on foot.
The camp was rebuilt and the rooms are quite insulated from nature - a lot of glasss - but we spent a night on the outside raised bed area under the stars - highly recommend.
Apart from Kanu, we were well looked after by Fanus, George and Cendiana.
