点评:The Hopewell Junction Depot Museum is a very interesting look at the growth of the railroads and their influence not just in the Hudson River Valley but all over New York State. How the railroads effected not just transportation and commerce but the growth of the small towns that surrounded and were built up by them.
There are displays in the three galleries of the train station: the front of the station is the small gift shop and the displays on the transportation of the trains and the lines that were created. The center gallery is the train conductors office and the Western Union communications offices and the back gallery which was the old ticket booth is the development of the railroad history, the Borden Milk display and other community displays.
In the back of the museum is a caboose that the volunteers are renovating and will be able to tour in the future. It really shows the life of a train conductor during that part of the last century.
For a small museum, it is packed with information and if you are a train buff this is the museum for you.
