点评：So just over two years after moving to Albuquerque, we finally got around to checking out the Cedar Crest locals favorite, Burger Boy.
What we didn't know was that for Veterans day, they were putting out a buffet free to all veterans and their spouses. Still, I wanted to try one of their famous green chile cheeseburgers and so ordered off the menu.... which the still wouldn't let me pay for.
The owners and staff were so warm and welcoming, and seemed so full of gratitude for our service even as I was full of gratitude for the free meal I didn't really feel like I deserved.
True to the reviews, the burgers and fries were outstanding, and we'll definitely be going back and supporting this wonderful small business that is truly a corners of the community.
We sat next to the most charming old gent, a man who served as a Grumman TBF Avenger torpedo bomber radio/nav/ordinance operator in 1944-45. That's right, a rare, still living WWII Navy veteran. He was sharp, bright eyed, and delightfully personable. Even though I had done the math in my head, it was still a shock to confirm he was 96 years old! I'll be thrilled if I'm half that sharp (or even alive) at 76!
We left so uplifted and inspired. I might have even had a small tear of joy in my eye.
