点评：Stayed in Jersey City overnight at the Holiday Inn outside the Holland Tunnel looking for an Italian restaurant within walking distance. This restaurant replaced GP’s at 236 Pavonia Avenue and is now called Chickies. Short walk about 8 minutes and once you left the Holland Tunnel area was pleasantly surprised of the friendly neighborhood area surrounding Hamilton Park. This restaurant has a nice outdoor seating area resembling a nice piazza in Italy which was crowded on a warm summer night. I chose to eat at the bar as it would be a little cooler and as a 1st timer I could interact with the bartender much more than a waitress covering many tables. At the bartenders recommendation I had the pork chop with the spicy rigatoni and the homemade tiramisu. Both were exceptional and decent size portions. Their wine list was short but I opted for their super Tuscan “ciacci” for a decent price at $14 which is pretty good for the area. The service by the bartender was exceptional and I would definitely return again when in the area. The only recommendation I would give to make this more favorable would be to have a complimentary bread basket with each meal (as most Italian restaurants provide) and change the music to a more intimate music list focusing on italian. But once again very happy with my meal and service.This place is a hidden gem, kudos to the staff!
