Union Hall Hoboken的点评
点评：I was excited to try Union Hall but my husband wanted to go to House of Que. I won, and was eager to try some of the less typical menu options and their nice selection of beers on tap. We were there with a party of 8.
As I attempted to order a beer, we learned that their tap system had an issue earlier in the day and was fixed but it would be about an hour before the beer was cool enough to serve. BUMMER.
So i opted for wine instead and my mother in law (who is NOT picky at all) ordered a Margarita. The wine was fine, the margarita was AWFUL. It was so bad that we just sent it back (I've never done that before). The soda's came out for my kids and tasted like selzer, so we had to have them repoured (also not something I usually do). In general, the food was not bad, but it was underwhelming. I ordered the Cauliflower tacos and they were "ok", not seasoned as well as i would have expected and the corn tortillas were drippng in oil. The mac balls were decent. My son ordered the steak Frite and it was decent but nothing special. My daughter said the chicken was "ok" and my husband's burger was ok. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but service was a little on the slow side.
The space is lovely and in a great location but as we were leaving my husband said "we should have gone to the house of que" and I hate to admit it but I think he was right. I know the beer issue can happen anywhere. It was a decent average meal, but nothing special. With all of the other great places to go in Hoboken, I'd go somewhere else instead next time. Bummer.
