Little River Church的点评
点评：On a pleasant day in early December, I re-visited North Hampton and went to the Little River Church. It was built by the Free Will Baptists in 1838. In that same year, the North Hampton Congregational Church was built.
Due to falling numbers of congregants at both churches, the two merged in 1951.
This church has scalloped shingles characteristic of the Queen Anne style architecture. It has a two-stage tower. There is a fanlight window above the entrance.
Today, the Little River Church is used only during the summer months.
It has no paved parking lot – simply a grassy area.
Located away from more populated areas, the church is in a sort-of quaint setting.
I rate the Little River Church at 4.50 and can recommend a visit.
A SIDE NOTE:
The East Cemetery is next door. Famous poet-humorist Ogden Nash is buried there. Although his primary residence was in Baltimore, he also had a home in the Little Boar's Head section, so I was told.
The dirt and grass vehicle path there had deep ruts with a high mound in the middle. It appeared unsafe for the average car to drive in as it as likely to scrape the underneath of the average car.
When I have more time, I’d like to get back there and walk in some day and pay my respects.
The reason for the delay in submitting this review was due to a months-long loss of my ability to post photos with my reviews and some health issues.
