点评:We went to the Paris Hotel to Martha Stewart’s restaurant. We started out with cocktails, an old-fashioned for my husband and a meyer lemondrop martini for me. That martini was refreshingly good. I wanted to start with the leek and fennel soup, which was luxuriously delicious, but other of our food selections were served first. Hubby had the frisée salad with a poached egg. We then decided to share appetizers for dinner. The first thing we shared was ricotta stuffed zucchini blossoms. Not what I expected. I’m used to the blossoms being plump with a good amount of filling, but these were flattened and deep-fried and hard to find the filling. Disappointing. Next we shared Big Martha’s pierogies. The pierogies were potato stuffed pillows cooked in brown butter. Martha knows pierogies, yum. The last thing we shared was the beef tartare, which was chopped strip loin with crispy capers and shallots. It was served with matchstick fries. The tartare was flavorful and delicious, and the fries were good, however I like to smear tartare on a nice piece of grilled baguette. We had to eat each element of this dish separately. A tartare really needs an accompaniment like a crostini so you’re not just eating a forkful of raw meat. Different for sure.
We definitely enjoyed the atmosphere of The Bedford and the food. Service was good but Damien our server missed the mark on coursing our selections as requested. For example, my soup came out mid-service instead of a first course as I wanted. Even with the few disappointments, I would recommend The Bedford.
