Wonderful introduction to Yellowstone National Park

点评：We purchased the 8-hour public tour of Yellowstone. We wanted a general overview of the park, trying to see as much as possible in the time allotted. Our tour guide, Bryce, picked us up at Chico Hot Springs, about 35 miles from the Northern entrance to the Park. We were impressed with the phone contact we received from Bryce a few days before our tour. He provided logistics information, but also wanted to know what we were most interested in seeing. Bryce is an excellent communicator, and listener, and tailored our tour to our interests. We were joined by a mother and daughter, for a total of 4 participants. What we didn't understand the full extent of is the traffic and numbers of visitors to the park. It was very helpful that Bryce could advise the best route considering the road work and traffic. We ended up very satisfied with the variety of sites we visited, and Bryce did his best to avoid waiting in long traffic jams. We saw a variety of animals (pronghorn, elk, bison, bear); we had a delicious lunch, despite being hailed on; and we were in awe at the beauty of this National Park. Additionally, Bryce gave us good advice for the remaining 2 days in the park that we would spend, with recommended route based on heavy traffic and road work. This was extremely helpful, and advice that we followed over another full day of sightseeing in the park. It was nice to leave the driving to someone else as newcomers to this large National Park, and it was nice to have a guide that knew so much, and could provide great advice for our private time.
