点评：Haven't been there in ages. The updates to the building freshen, but respectfully preserve the feel of the historic original.
The staff greeted us cheerfully and cared for us like family.
Onion ring appetizer was a huge fresh plateful of crispy deliciousness delicately fried and remarkably light.
Catfish blue-plate did not disappoint. A large fried filet with crispy crust and flaky moist meat, similar to the exquisite texture of the trout almondine I've had at Galitoires. Macaroni and cheese with the proper top layer of cheddar and greens that were too good to have ever touched a can.
Coconut cream pie was of a little stiffer consistency than typical and was topped with a snowball of toasted coconut sprinkled whipped cream instead of the usual full coverage do wop meringue. I had no difficulty adapting to this interesting variation.
Arrived early enough to park behind the restaurant and avoid having to indoctrinate ourselves into the city's parking app.
We will return, that I can tell you.
