点评：For our 62nd wedding anniversary, I chose Jax because of its reputation for enhancing a special occasion. I ordered a floral arrangement earlier in the week, and that was waiting for us. We ordered appetizers, blue point oysters and crab cakes. Irresistible. Then we both had salads. they were tasty and huge, For our main course my wife ordered the filet medium rare and I tried to short ribs pot roast on a bed of mashed potatoes...moist and tangy. The wine was cold. The food was hot. The service was lovely. In a celebrative mood I told our server to offer a drink to the diners (two men) at the adjacent table. They left without a word to us shortly before we received our bill - $287. But our server showed us six $50 bills. She whispered (as if it were a sacred moment) that our neighbors had given her the cash to pay for our entire meal.
We tried to get his name, but our server explained he was a regular and liked to buy drinks for strangers anonymously. So, the moral of the story is twofold: Choose Jax for your next special occasion and order a floral arrangement ahead of time so that you attract attention and possibly one of the generous Jax regulars will buy you a drink or more.
