An Essential Part of any Heritage Centre Visit

点评：Indeed, no visit to the Haida Heritage Centre or Haida Gwaii Museum would be complete without a stop at Gina DaahlGahl Naay – the “Trading House.” The space may be compact, but it houses a nice selection of authentic Haida jewelry, art, cedar baskets, clothing, books, prints, postcards and other such items. The jewelry – usually gold, silver, copper or argillite – are available in a price range to suit any budget, be it high end or something a little friendlier on the wallet. In short, it’s unlikely you’ll walk away empty-handed!
I’ve patronized Gina DaahlGahl Naay a couple of times, purchasing books and a few small argillite pieces. While I think the jewelry and art selection is nice and fairly comprehensive, I’ve been most impressed with the books on offer: There’s a little bit of everything here – guides, manga, kids, historical accounts, you name it. It makes for a well-rounded selection.
At day’s end, the “Trading House” beautifully complements the Haida Heritage Centre and Museum. After taking in a rich cultural tour, why not stop on by the gift shop and purchase a keepsake of your experience and journey?
