点评:One hardly thinks of white tablecloth fine dining at a grocery store, but, this is not a typical grocery store nor is the restaurant a typical store eatery. This is one of the best Italian restaurants in the area. Be sure to make reservations. Wait time can be a half hour or so during busy times without a reservation. When seated, our server, Rebecca took our wine order immediately and our appetizer order. The wine (2021 Capoano Neruda Cirò) was splendid. Fresh, clean, expressively Italian and light enough for lunch. Wine prices are not cheap but not over the top either. Like everything in the store and the restaurant quality is uncompromisingly good but not inexpensive. They must have discovered the sweet spot price-wise because just about every table had wine on it. We started with Fried Calamari with pepperoncini and scallions accompanied by a marinara sauce. We almost didn't order it because it sounded like too many ingredients for classic calamari. Thank goodness we did order it. The calamari were perfectly cooked, soft and sparingly coated. The house made pepperoncini and scallions enhanced the experience without mucking it up. Perfect! My wife's entrée was the sumptuously marinated Chicken Breast minus the bun. It was appetizingly served with a generous portion of bacon and delicious seasoned mayo on the side. Also on the plate was one of the most deliciously fresh potato and tomato salads she has had. It absolutely transported her from Michigan in the middle of winter to Italy on a sunny summer day. Every bite compelled another bite! I had the Linguini in White Wine Clam sauce. The clams were nice and plump, not overcooked. The pasta was perfectly seasoned with just enough cooking liquid to keep the pastas wet and sloppy. My only criticism was the level of doneness. The pasta was very "al dente" which made it difficult to consume. It is a bit of a pet peeve of mine at Italian restaurants everywhere that to speed up the line in the kitchen, they undercook the pasta. Next time, I'll make a point of specifying that I don't want undercooked pasta. For some reason, they do not automatically bring you a spoon, so if you like to twirl your pasta, be sure to specify that too. For dessert, we both had the gelato. My wife enjoyed her Grapefruit gelato which was remarkably bright and fresh while I enjoyed the Gianduia gelato which marries the best of chocolate mousse and hazelnuts. Service was excellent too. This is not just a grocery store café. This is a fine dining destination.
