点评:I made reservations at the Camp Inn on US23 through Booking.com. Please look at the elaborate detailed marketing on their webpage. Nowhere did it say that they were a dump. There’s no restaurant there’s no accommodations of the such but yet they advertise a wonderful property and experience..
I researched the property and did not find anything sketchy. I did not know that they were sold to Rodeway until a few weeks before our reservation.
On July 19, my girlfriend and her daughters checked in to the “Rodeway Inn”
Here is the exact account of what was experienced as documented by my gf’s daughter.
The following events took place on Friday, July 19th, 2024.
My mother, my sister, my sister’s boyfriend and I entered the front office of the Rodeway Inn and checked into the two (2) rooms that were purchased, in advance, by our family-friend, Dawn Holland (Paull). My mother and I were to stay in one room whilst my sister and her boyfriend were to stay in the second room. My mother and I do a walk-through of every hotel we stay at prior to bringing our bags in to ensure the room is suitable.
When we entered the building in which our two (2) rooms were located, all four (4) of us noticed the hallway carpets were horribly stained, a wretched and overwhelming stench entered our noses that one could describe as mold and/or sulfur and there was dust everywhere. We continued towards the hotel room and figured we would suffice- our preplanned events for the weekend would cause us to use the room only to sleep and not much else.
When my mother and I entered the hotel room, the same record played again. There were multiple stains on the carpet and flooring, chewed up sunflower seeds spread across the floor, red stains on our mattresses and mattress covers, the toilet water would not stop running and fruit flies were, quite literally, everywhere. I kept quiet to not upset my mother because she was looking forward to such a beautiful and eventful weekend.
Prior to leaving the room, I told my mother I had to use the bathroom because we had just traveled four (4) hours from home. I began lining the toilet seat because I was not comfortable sitting down bare due to the stains I had seen lining the back of the toilet top. After I laid a few pieces down, I noticed a brown speck on the piece I placed on the front of the toilet. I asked my mother what it was and she did not have a clue. I dared to look down at the toilet paper roll- what appeared to be human feces and urine covered the side of the roll. I began washing my hands as best as I could- I was sickened. I called my sister and her boyfriend into the room and they confirmed that it appeared to be human feces and urine- brown solid specks and yellow liquid drops.
To not be late to the first event of the weekend, my mother and I locked the hotel room and immediately went to the front office where my mother relayed all of what we found in the room. Front desk personnel was apologetic and stated: “the room will be deep cleaned” and that they are “short on help”. Why was our room not deep cleaned prior to our arrival? How could a thing, such as a toilet paper roll covered in feces and urine, not ring an alarm?
I saw worry and disgust written all over my mother’s face. The fear of returning and the room not being clean caused my mother, my sister, my sister’s boyfriend and I to not enjoy our time to the fullest.
We returned to the hotel room. It was evident that someone had “deep cleaned” the room- the smell was not as overwhelming, the stains previously found on the mattresses and mattress covers were gone, the sunflower seeds were no longer. We thought: “Great! We may feel comfortable enough to stay here for two (2) nights!”
…And there it was. As my mother was clearing off the nightstand near the bed she was planning to sleep in- a bed bug. A photograph that I took of the bed bug is attached. I google scanned the bug as well which confirmed our biggest nightmare. We immediately left the room and went to my sister’s room where we showed the image to her and her boyfriend- they packed their bags as quickly as possible. They began stripping their beds to ensure that the place in which they had just laid their bodies down on as well as their clothing was not infested. We, thankfully, did not come across another bed bug but their mattresses were, to say the least, repulsive.
Once again, my mother and I went to the front office- I showed the photograph that I had just taken of the bed bug to front desk personnel. It was met with complete and utter silence. Is a bed bug so hard to believe when I informed you, hours prior, that I touched human feces and urine on the toilet paper roll in our room? I don’t believe so. I demanded that the refund process began immediately. I also demanded the name and phone number of a hotel employee so that this matter could be resolved as quickly as possible with little to no hiccups.
It is ridiculous that these events are being questioned. The front desk should have three (3) separate occasions, on camera, where my mother and I entered and spoke to front desk personnel. Our faces and/or the audio should be telling enough. The picture of the bed bug can be confirmed by where it was positioned- the head board of the room in which we stayed.
Julie is the manager. She has done nothing but avoid me. Make excuses and then was rude. I get it. She’s in jeopardy of losing her job, but she also knew that when she went to that room after the explicit complaints, a
changing the sheets on that bed … those bugs were there! She said nothing. She must’ve thought we were really stupid.
On Sunday July 21st, I stopped into the property to ask about my refund where I met a man named Vic. When I asked him the property owners name he told me. “Bob” just Bob, & refused to give me anything more.
Booking.com has tried to reach this property four times and they are not responding. I am still waiting for a call and an email from Julie. I am done playing around and I am not taking this.
I rented a total of three rooms for $599.02
My niece ended up staying. She said her room was dumpy and rundown, but had dramatic complaints.
I am asking for the refund of the two rooms for the two nights that my girlfriend and her family did not stay. They walked out disgusted, needing to find other accommodations. They wound up at the new Holiday Inn which cost an arm and leg $1557.00.
Our entire experience was absolutely unconscionable. I hope this experience helps somebody else and rattles the cage of that establishment 😡😡😡
This place needs to be inspected and the owners/manager investigated
