点评:Engineer and Healthcare professional eager to try Lucy & the Wolf. We had been waiting for several weeks and awaited in great anticipation. It was the place I chose for my birthday celebration but were unable to come at that time.
We entered the establishment, informed hostess we would need a booth or regular table and chairs indoors. Due to a large party, they had the booths reserved. One of us is pending major back surgery the other pending a total knee replacement. Hostess offered us a table outside, it was a lovely sunny evening; however, the Mister did not prefer an outdoor seating arrangement due to traffic, cars stopping next to where we are dining and lots of people walking by.
We were seated at a high-top table which was incredibly uncomfortable, I had my knee propped up on the widow seal to alleviate the pressure off of my knee. We were both in physical pain and should have declined having dinner here. I insisted we stay since it was what I had wanted for my birthday dinner and had waited more than a week to dine here. My mind was more focused on my throbbing knee and twisted way of sitting to keep my bad knee from dangling in midair.
Our waiter arrived at our table, and we ordered drinks. A Chardonay for me and a beer for the Mister. The waiter explained the big and small plates and recommended getting a few small plates to share. We didn't quite understand that until our food arrived. I ordered the Fire Roasted Branzino with marinated cucumbers. The Mister ordered The Charcuterie Board which looked amazing from the picture we had seen online. I was served a plate with the Branzino and a few diced marinated cucumbers. It was the equivalent of one round slice of cucumber diced up. The presentation was beautiful, no complaints there. We paid $30 for a piece of fish with one slice of diced cucumber. The Charcuterie board was nothing like the website picture, there was no fresh bread which the Mister really enjoys. His Charcuterie Board contained a few crackers, cheese and meats. We were hungry! It was dinner after all.
I asked for the salad, another $14 making my dinner $44 for a piece of fish and a salad. The salad was beautiful, the taste was pure salt. It said mustard greens in the description, I received butter lettuce, which is ok, I delved into the salad to be met with a lot of salt. I stirred the salad to hope to mix it up and spread the salt. I should have sent it back but we were hungry. I don't drink water with my meals, but was grateful for the glass of water and drank almost all of it due to the salt. When we left my tongue felt as dry as a piece of sandpaper. I literally drank almost 80 ounces of water throughout the evening and even had a sucker trying to get the salt taste out of my mouth. I was up all night going to the bathroom from drinking all the water and had another bathroom issue all day today.
A good meal is never too salty. This would be a great restaurant minus the salt, seating and high prices. I love the idea of sharing small plates and having a variety. In these times we are in this is not a financially friendly place to dine. You will easily spend $150 - $200 for two people to leave feeling satisfied. We were hungry when we left. A great chef never leaves his/her guests feeling hungry after a great meal.
If you follow the concept and are willing to spend a few hundred dollars this is the place for you.
I would recommend they have larger tables to accommodate the multiple dishes. The seats are uncomfortable to have an extended meal, especially for those suffering from physical pain or unable to sit in a high top chair.
The price in the menu for the Branzino was $30, our bill we were charged $32. The Waiter was unhappy to change it and said he would check on it. It's only $2 but we should not be overcharged above the menu price.
