A Memoral Trip To Upper Mustang

点评：Mountain World Treks/Sali Trekking planned our whole trip to Upper Mustang. We started with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Jomson and on to Kagbeni where our trek began. The landscape is a combination of stark cliffs leading down to deep gorges with snow covered mountains towering above it all. The Kali Gandaki River runs through the valley and one can often find the coveted Shaligram stones there. There is now a road which winds from Jomson all the way to the Tibetan border which makes it possible to travel the area by jeep or motorbike. We trekked a combination of trail and road. The villages along the way are ancient looking built in a Tibetan style. They are fascinating to wander through. Another interesting feature of the area are the thousands of sky caves dotting the clifts. There are a few which can be visited. Lo Manthang was the ultimate destination which is the ancient walled city of whitewashed brick buildings built in 1380. It's narrow winding streets and time forgotten gompas(monasteries) make it an interesting village in which to wander. Having trekked around in the area, we decided to rent a jeep to return to Jomson and ultimately our flight back to Pokhara.
Throughout our whole trek, Sali Trekking did an excellent job of planning, booking wonderful and interesting accommodations with bathrooms and overseeing all aspects of the trip. I have used Mountain World Treks six time now and would never choose anyone else. Saligram Aryal,the owner, with his experience and expertise will make your trip memorable!
