Wonderful time at the Market Street Inn

点评：My wife and I just got back from a three-night stay at the Market Street Inn on Mackinac Island to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Our room (Room 6 on the second floor) was small, but was perfect for us. From it's window, we had a great view of Fort Mackinac and Marquette Park, and had many opportunities to see and hear the horses clippety clop on by. We really liked the location, as it is close to the action, but being just a block off of Main Street has a lot less traffic.
The breakfast included your choice of coffees and teas, juice, a fruit cup or fruit/yogurt/granola parfait, a bakery item (muffin, turnover, or bagel), and hard boiled eggs. It was relatively simple, but very delicious. We had our breakfast delivered to our room each morning, which we really enjoyed, but you can also choose to eat in their parlor on the main floor or in the courtyard out back. Most important to us, my wife is a celiac, so she cannot have any gluten, and the folks at the Market Street Inn were very attentive and accommodating about this. They had gluten free muffins and bagels available, which they made sure to prepare separately, which we very much appreciated! They also would have cookies available in the afternoon, and they had an Udi's gluten free cookie especially labeled for my wife, which was a nice touch.
Every one at the Market Street in was very friendly and helpful. One of the innkeepers, Brian, even gave us a suggestion for a restaurant for a fancy anniversary dinner (1852 Grill Room at the Island House Hotel), and it definitely did not disappoint. To top it off, we were given a special bottle of sparkling apple juice as an anniversary gift.
My wife and I really enjoyed out time at the Market Place Inn, and we would love to come back the next time we come to Mackinac Island.
