The Sagamore的点评
点评：This is another one of those iconic Cape Cod spots that we have often driven by but never stopped. As we had an appointment in Wareham that finished up around 1:00 PM we decided that this should be our stop for lunch on the way home. Also I was at a meeting the day before and someone was wearing a T shirt from the establishment. I took it as kind of a sign that we should stop here.
Located directly on Route 6A it is easy to find. There is ample parking all around the building so if the front lot is full don't worry about getting a spot. Handicap parking is available. The entry way is a short ramp to the front door.
When you enter the building you are in one of the dining areas. To your right is the bar and another dining area. There is also another dining area off to the left. You can't see it from the front area but it is there and looks very cosy. I found it on the way to the restroom. It also looks like there may be ample seating outdoors but as it is February we didn't pursue it.
We were greeted at the door by one of the servers and she indicated that we could sit anywhere and she would find us. We chose a small booth towards the rear. It provided space for us to park the stroller my wife uses these days.
Shawna was our server and she was very pleasant and professional.
We decided we would have large bowls of clam chowder for our late lunch. We could have ordered some of the tasty items on the menu such as fried clams or the lobster rueben or some wings but held off as we still had a ways to go in the car on the journey home.
The chowders arrived at the table vey quickly along with a basket of chowder crackers and some very nice bread. They sell loaves of the bread on the way out the door.
The chowder was thick and creamery. Not as thick as paste nor was it watery thin. It was served hot and it was delicious.
This is definitely a place to stop in and enjoy whether coming or going from the Cape. We will definitely keep it on our must visit again list and will be sure to order up some of the other items on the menu.
