点评:Fun, low-key, great food and not too touristy. This place has been around for almost 100 years and is now run by the third generation of the originals. It is NOT fancy. Right in the very heart of Commercial Street downtown, it is kind of diner—like with booths and a friendly vibe.
And the food is GREAT! Our appetizers were cold peel and eat shrimp (perfectly not-overcooked with a good cocktail sauce) and a cup of absolutely delicious kale soup. Kale soup is one of the many Portuguese dishes - that being the country of origin for Provincetown’s fishing community. Along the same lines I had a perfect Porto a A;enterococcus - chunk of pork with a bunch of clams in a sip-worthy sauce smothered in fries. Jayma had delicately breaded, lightly fried fish and chips. It was all so good we splurged on a chocolate pudding and an Indian pudding for desserts. We polished off a couple of good beers on tap.
Our serving woman was informative, attentive (but not overly so) and funny. The meal was perfectly spaced. Reasonable prices - actually a bit on the lower side for Provincetown, especially for food of this caliber. Great, old-fashioned fund spot.
