Cafe Vanak的点评
点评：Two of us went without a reservation and, to our surprise, there was a free table. The Cafe has 7 -8 tables (for 2), and orders are placed where you pay, in advance. As a sign of super growth, they ask you if you made a reservation, and when we said 'no', they explained that iyr neals wil be placed in containers (like for take-out). When the delicious food arrived at the table, but in containers, we said "No thank you, we don't eat dinner from an aluminum 'box'." They were accommodating.
The reason for the pre-boxing of your dinner is that, recently as the popularity of Vanak has escalated, they had long lines of customers standing on the sidewalk outside. So, the speed things up, they put your dinner in an aluminum box, and since you have already paid, the idea is that, when you are finished, you leave.
The food was superb, fresh, and perfectly cooked (see pictures).
The couple at the next table was raving over the food, especially the barberries, which is a Persian berry similar to cranberry but sweeter.
We'll definitely return.
