Smith Island Inn的点评
点评：We rented the Pearl, which is a cottage offered by the Smith Island Inn. On the website it is stated that the cottages offer all the "comforts and high-end finishes of the Inn" also, that there are bicycles and kayaks available.
I booked the cottage in July and communicated with Michele, the owner. I let her know that we planned on bicycling and kayaking and that there were four of us. She told me that the bikes were behind the inn and kayaks behind the cottage.
Our experience was very disappointing. The cottage had one bed that had groves worn into the mattress on both sides, the hot water smelled of sewage, and there was food in the refrigerator that had a note dated August 2023, as well as dead mosquitoes.
The bicycles were rusted, and the tires needed air. We could not ride them. There were three kayaks behind the cottage. There were four of us and we needed four kayaks. The shed behind the cottage was locked and we did not have the code to open it.
We were unable to call John, who was the emergency contact, because there was no cell service in the house or the surrounding area. I emailed Michele, the owner, but did not hear back until 10 am the next morning. By that time, we had given up and had taken the 7:30 ferry back to Chrisfield.
Michele has refused to refund even a portion of the $300 she charged us for the cottage and said that the kayaks were not included because we did not stay at the Inn.
Due to my experience, I would not recommend that anyone stay at this bed and breakfast.
