Beautiful location but disappointing experience

点评：We recently spent 3 nights at the Cliff House. We booked the vacation months ago and were very much looking forward to a special getaway. We have never been to the property before so did not fully understand the differences in the rooms-- we had relied on the room descriptions. We knew we wanted an ocean view room and liked the idea of being in the main hotel so booked a Terrace King Room. The website states that "Terrace Rooms feature oversized terraces with lounge chairs and umbrella, directly facing the Atlantic Ocean from their perch above our seasonal Terrace Dining area." What we didn't realize is that while the room is ocean facing, it does NOT have an ocean view. The view of the ocean is completely obstructed by the restaurant and this should be more clearly stated in the room description. We were so disappointed by the view and the lack of privacy (imagine restaurant patrons in direct view of our room). We immediately went to the front desk to express our disappointment. They were unapologetic and couldn't make any changes as the hotel was completely sold out. For a hotel of this caliber, where we are spending over $1000 per night, a gesture for our inconvenience would have been nice.

Additionally, our stay was a Thurs-Sunday and there was a wedding each day. The pool was packed and we couldn't find any chairs. Luckily, with some patience and perseverance, Adrean went above and beyond and eventually found 2 chairs by the pool for us.

If we return, we will be sure to visit in the beginning the week (not a weekend( and reserve a different room type. Overall, we expected more from this property.
