Raincoast Breads的点评
点评：This restaurant has been on our radar for some time after seeing their delectable dish photos - and also highlighting local ingredients in Haida Gwaii.
It might be a bit of a challenge to spot the restaurant down School Rd in Sandspit, but it is worth finding Raincost Breads. The restaurant was quite responsive to our questions and provided us with helpful information. It is good to note that reservation is a must to secure their limited spots via their official website or Facebook page.
We went on their theme "I Can't Wait to See You Lace Your Shoes" Mother's Day Tasting Menu. The menu showcased about 8 different tasting dishes.
The restaurant setting is a white table cloth and the atmosphere is quite cozy as it is part of a residence. The restaurant is well lighted, clean, and just next to the kitchen where all the action happened.
We saw the staff prepping and plating our dishes which added to the energetic service we received from the hostess and the servers. The Chef is also predominantly around, making sure all the dishes coming to our tables were in great detail and nothing amiss.
Everything served was delightful and surprising for most. We cannot forget the Chive sorbet and the black truffle in the first course. The impressive gold flakes and salmon caviar were served with our scallop course. The tasty french onion soup that seems to top the other versions of this soup. The generous amount of pita, the refreshing greek salad, the beef souvlaki skewered in alder branches and grilled just right. Not to mention the butter chicken that one of us were craving for a long time was delicious! And finally the cronut that was light and served as the dessert of the tasting menu. Coffee and tea were offered as the last part of the dining experience, which was a good end for the lunch tasting menu.
Overall, the dining experience, the gracious services, and the different local ingredients incoporated in the tasting menu was definitely unforgettable. We would certainly go back in Sanspit to re-experience and savour the magical and artistic genius of Raincoast Breads creations.
