点评：We returned to Gino’s after many years. The reviews were very good and we were going to have dinner with friends. They don’t take reservations on line or email, so I called the restaurant. We arrived early for our reservations. The host was a bit reserved but took us to our table - not a great spot but then again we had 5 in our party. The waiter came over after about 5 minutes, never told us his name and asked what we wanted to drink. I ordered the blood orange Cosmos (EXCELLENT!) and my husband a beer (only have beer in the bottle). We waited for the rest of our party. After they arrived, it was another 5 minutes or so for the waiter to come back. He took their drink orders and we ordered appetizers - the calamari and the Capri salad (tomato and mozarella). He brought the appetizers but no bread which we thought was odd because there were butter packets on the table.
When time to take our orders, it turns out that our first options were not available - he never mentioned this when he gave us the menus. He was a bit gruff and impatient. We finally settled on Veal Marsala - good but very small portions - no accompanying salad and only an extremely small side of fettuccine Alfredo; the chicken alfredo (again no sides) and the grilled shrimp which came with a side of pasta.
As we sat, additional parties came in. It was definitely a place with older generation regulars. It looked like there might be live music at times but not the night we were there.
All in all, a decent dinner. The meals were a bit expensive (27 for the Marsala with no sides or salad) for the amount of food that you got compared with other Italian restaurants in the Baton Rouge area. I am not sure we would go back any time soon.
