A Unique Resort Experience in the Heart of the Deraniyagala Jungles
Forest Shade Eco Resort的点评
点评：Forest Shade Eco resort is a resort situated in the jungles of Deraniyagala. It has an infinity pool overlooking the river, and a layered natural pool filled with water from a waterfall. It is on the banks of a river with stunning scenery and plenty of things to see if you explore with the manager.
The journey there is somewhat an experience in its own right. Since we were travelling there from a local area the journey was short but if you were travelling directly there from far, it is not the most pleasant of welcomes. Travelling the 2km stretch of road from the main road to the resort is bearable in a 4 by 4 but in anything else it is a nightmare for the vehicle and driver.
Once we arrived we were welcomed with a nice welcome drink and big smiles from the staff which was a pleasant sight. There was an obvious lack of mobile and TV signal but it is to be expected when visiting the middle of nowhere. They had a Wifi signal on the top floor however which was great. Our group played Karrom with a board that was at the reception.
The rooms were clean and luxurious with well made and comfortable beds. Each room had a unique balcony. Ours was a bit too small but since I don't spend time on balconies I hardly cared. The TV was useless as they had no signal but once again can't be counted as a fault.
The bathroom was a bit too small and narrow but everything was working great except the hot water which was a bit inconsistent but still reliable.
The resort seems to have a few staff but they were all great, welcoming, polite and friendly.
The meals were also great as well. Properly cooked and served on time with what we requested.
The manager will also take you upstream on a tour if requested and it is definitely worth it.
I decided to give the Forest Shade Eco Resort a 4/5. The only reason I gave it 1 less point is due to things they cannot control such as Internet Signal aside from their wifi, and the road getting there. These things do matter for travellers.
