I am not a complainer but I was so disappointed in the service. I have been very loyal to Marriott, I am a lifetime titanium elite. Undoubtedly the greatest perk is the 4pm checkout.
I checked in on the app and requested a late checkout. When I checked in I verified a late checkout but she said she would check on it. Imagine our surprise when at 11:40 the cleaning lady was banging on our door. When I stuck my head out in the hallway she had already ducked out of view but another woman was there. I told her about the 4pm check out.
Momentarily the room phone rang. The front desk was calling to say they couldn’t give me a 4pm check out because they didn’t have any cleaners staying that late but would a 2pm do. What option did I have?
To make matters more frustrating the same cleaning lady started pounding on our door again at 1:40. This was after I game her a $5.00 tip.
I am disappointed in the process. If I used a mobile key I wouldn’t have even checked in at the front desk and there is nothing anywhere that says I need to verify a late checkout.
I was let down by this hotel. I know it’s not in keeping with Marriott’s world class service.
