Located at 17W626 Butterfield Road, at Midwest Road, it offers hot and cold sandwiches, paninis, salads, specialty Italian grocery items, a butcher shop, home-made Italian sausage and pastas, frozen dinners, premium meats and cheeses, Italian wines and fresh baked bread daily. Open from 10 to 8 Monday through Friday, 9 to 5 on Saturday and 11 to 4 on Sunday, this family owned and operated business has built a reputation as one of the best sandwich shops in the western suburbs. Most popular sandwiches are the Italian sub with provolone, salami capicola, mortadella, lettuce, tomato, onion and oil, the American sub with American cheese, salami, ham, bologna, lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo, Frankie's Special with imported capicola, marinated eggplant and provolone and egg salad with lettuce and tomato. But that's not all. Try the meatball sandwich with red sauce or the hard salami sandwich with lettuce, tomato and mayo or the Reuben on rye with corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and dressing, Italian beef with beef gravy, Italian sausage with red sauce and turkey and bacon sandwich with lettuce, tomato and mayo. Oh, don't forget the muffaletta panini with Genova salami, imported ham, provolone and olive spread. It all goes well with a bowl of chili, cole slaw, macaroni salad or potato salad.
