点评：Fairbury made a convenient stop on our trip from Indiana back to Wisconsin. You need to get off Hwy 24, but it is easy to find in the small downtown area. Really cute decorating, saluting the town's history. Very clean dining room, well kept restrooms.
It's a small menu, but had several interesting options we would have gladly tried. Servers are young, but very friendly and knowedgeable about the menu which is actually a rare thing in this type of place. Our server was willing to offer suggestions and descriptions. Order was out very quickly. Food is served on mismatched vintage china, very cute. The server said people "donate" the old china they don't want to the restaurant. That is what a small town can do! I went with the french onion soup which was served with the cheese on a piece of toast on the side that I really kind of liked. Made eating it a lot easier than usual. They offer salads at full or half sized (much appreciated) so I tried the oriental ramen salad. Veggies were fresh and noodles and almonds were crunchy. Dressing was fine. it could have used some manadarin oranges. Husband tried the fish tacos with a Cajun sauce. Even though they initially had a very "fishy"smell (not sure what kind of fish was used). And yes, I know they were made of fish and might have a fishy smell, but we eat a lot of fish tacos and the ones made of cod, don't smell like that.
We had to finish the meal with a shared homemade cinnamon roll.
While not super large, all portions were fair and reasonably priced.
