Pullman" is historic for many reasons. The factory manufactured luxurious railcars for decades. The company developed a planned community that was governed by extremely strict rules. The 1894 strike was a landmark event in labor-capital relations. The Pullman porters played important roles in African-American history and civil rights.
This site commemorates all of this. But there's not a whole lot left of it, and the Historic Park is still being developed. The main building where the visitor's center is located is the signature building. While the building is large, the visitor's center includes only a few small galleries and can be seen in a half hour. Nothing else is open to the public.
The remains of an assembly building are nearby, and a Pullman-era hotel (closed to the public) is across a busy street, but there are few other buildings remaining from what was once an entire town.
There's no cohesion to the site. While I understand that there are other buildings with exhibits besides the visitor's center, the staff there did not even mention them. I'd highly recommend getting on a walking tour, both because the neighborhood is dangerous and because there are no signs at all directing visitors to the historic buildings.
There is a lot of history here, but a lot of investment will be needed to make this site into a real park site as opposed to some scattered buildings that require real effort to visit.
