点评:Looking for a restaurant with live jazz on a Thursday evening, we made reservations at Le Piano. Little did we know that it would become our most memorable wedding anniversary experience ever. After a five hour drive, we checked in to a downtown Evanston hotel. We decided to use Uber on our own for the first time. That went well until the driver let us out. Oops, we didn’t see any sign of a restaurant. On a hunch, I walked past the El station entrance, and spotted Le Piano in the first block of a closed-off section of North Glenwood. We were welcomed warmly and given our choice of being close to the band. We chose a reasonable distance away. My steak and her seafood were delightful, and so were the selections played by the Derek Dulera Organ Trio. When the band took a break, the club manager discovered they we were observing our anniversary. How would we like a surprise, he asked. With more than half of our wine consumed, we accepted with a why not. Moments later, he asked us to follow him. “Just leave your things on the table.” He led us to the grand piano and told us to lie on our backs underneath and close our eyes. I’ve never heard “Moon River” or anything else from under a grand piano. There’s nothing quite like it. Suddenly, the band and everyone in the place were our friends. After dessert, we even got a ride back to our hotel from a mother and daughter at the next table.
