Short read - Highly Recommend
Wife heard about this place on Facebook and since we are Meat & Three people we had to try it. They have daily meat and three “”every day” meats to choose from. Plates come with 2-3 or 4 sides. Good prices. Meat & 3 about $8. Comes with cornbread or rolls.
Meatloaf has a unique flavor twist I could not pin down but it was very good. Would definitely order every time.
Green Beans were properly seasoned along with bacon and were Real Good.
Mashed potatoes were homemade good (not a box- I’ll ask for gravy on them next time).
Cream Corn was sweet and excellent.
Mac & Cheese good, baked but not a traditional “Baked” (not velveta either).
Fried Okra was good.
Fried Squash was so so, lacked a little flavor.
The BLT wife said was good.
Home Fries are the way God intended you to eat fries. A Real potato run through a hand slicer in the kitchen and dropped into the grease. No freezer or reconstituted mash involved. Wish they had Chili; I could eat a basket full of these as a meal.
Apple Cobbler had an excellent crust and cinnamony apple filling. No butter though.
Person next to us had a bowl of pinto beans and cornbread. Traditional good cornbread muffins (by that I mean not sweet). It looked good. I’ll try that next time I think.
They serve Coke fountain products and the sweet tea is southern with real sugar.
Salad Bar was basic and fresh. Small is fine as long as it’s fresh; as that is what my wife looks for mostly is freshness. Good variety of toppings.
Chastity took time to explain the recipes and ingredients due to our allergies. Very sweet of her. Service was impeccable and we wanted for nothing. Never had to ask for refills.
Bathrooms were clean and neat. The hot water will get hot-hot like it’s supposed to do.
Over all….
