点评:We stayed at the hotel for two nights and it’s a really nice hotel - great location being attached to the mall. My husband, son and I decided to go to the bistro for breakfast. We did get there late and they were about to close but they seated us with smiles and took our orders pretty quickly. Our waitress was very nice. My husband did have to go and ask for creamer which was in a big jug and was rudely told that it was right in front of him and had to proceed to take the jug to our table, pour his creamer and return the jug to the counter - not overly terrible but the waitress was not very nice about it. We also had to ask for silverware and had to grab salt and pepper from another table. Again - not terrible - no huge issue. Our waitress was apologetic about the silverware and quickly brought us some (we did check other tables first before bothering them). We got our food and everything looked great and my husband and son were very happy with their meals. I had ordered the avocado toast which sounded really good and healthy. The menu said it came with “eggs your way”. I ordered my eggs over-hard because I simply can’t eat runny eggs and the waitress nodded and wrote it down. When my toast came and she placed the plate in front of me I noticed the eggs were quite jiggly but I was hopeful. It came with two eggs so I poke one and it was runny - my husband said to just eat the other egg which I was fine with but then I poked that one and it was also runny. Normally I don’t even bother with mentioning anything but the eggs were a big part of the meal and they said “eggs your way” on the menu. I flagged this to the waitress and she was really nice about it and apologized and explained to another waitress what happened and the other waitress took it back in the kitchen. It took a while for my food to come back and you always worry about sending food back. It came back out and it was a decent meal and the eggs were now hard which was great. It wasn’t very flavorful so I did have to add salt and butter but that’s fine - I like salt and that can always be added. The toast also came with a big pile of arugula which seemed to just have olive oil dumped on it and no other dressing which again was fine though it was not evenly distributed. I was stuffing big fork fulls of arugula in my mouth and on the third fork I dug in a bit as I was trying to get more olive oil on the leaves and that’s when I saw something in my plate. I was not sure if my eyes were fooling me but it looked like some form of bug then I noticed it was a dragonfly. I asked my husband to look as well to make sure and he said “that’s disgusting”. I had already spit out the arugula I had in my mouth and was fighting back nausea. I tried to gesture to staff for someone to come over and they looked annoyed and said they would bring my check - I was so nauseous and my husband had to tell them to send someone over. A new waitress who had just clocked-in walked over - saw the dragonfly and was immediately shocked and took the plate and said her manager was coming out right now. Obviously at this point my stomach is turning - I ate so much of that plate and arugula already and I was just about to put that dragonfly in my mouth. The chef came out and said that he didn’t even know what to say,
they wash their vegetables and their kitchen is clean and that unfortunately this made it past their checks because it “blended in”. First of all, the dragonfly was BROWN and arugula is GREEN last I checked. All he said he could do was apologize. He asked if he could make anything else for me but I was in no way eating anything else from them. He said this happens all the time even when he goes out to eat he’ll find hair in his food etc and that unfortunately it happened to me this time. I was so dumbfounded by how he handled it. In between gagging I said look I’m not paying for this and THEN he said ohhh of course, that’s a given. I feel he should have started with that and not tried to downplay that “this happens all the time”. Come on! I mean I have found things in my food a few times before but not a big dragonfly like that and the restaurant staff usually deal with it gracefully. I did have a thought of whether they put something in my plate because I sent my food back which is totally possible but I am giving the benefit of the doubt and hope they don’t have a jar of dragonflies waiting around. Soooo generally not a great experience but I have rated them “poor” instead of “terrible” because there were some okay points. My husband and son had really good meals (though they felt sick after my experience). Think there needs to be some more quality checks in place and better overall customer service.
