点评：We were so excited to see this. We visited a, what we thought to be similar, traveling circus last year that was set up in the same location. The tickets for Cirque Italia were twice the price that we paid for last year‘s circus, and it had a much larger tent. We anticipated an even more impressive show, as last year‘s circus was incredibly fun even though it was smaller and much less expensive. This circus was incredibly disappointing. The production value was low, the whole thing felt “cheap“, the water really didn’t add anything to the show, and a lot of the stunts were just “OK.“ We paid extra for great seats, but someone else had also somehow bought our first seats. Since we came after them, we ended up in the same vicinity but in very uncomfortable metal fold out chairs. A lot of people were seated in these awful chairs! We were disappointed that we paid more for “good seats“ yet missed a lot of the show. There was a lot of downtime in this show, made up for by clowns doing little skits, which we could see none of. We were completely blind to any act that was happening while they were setting up for the next performers. No one in our “good seats“ area could see what was happening. We were honestly really bored for a lot of it, and our kids kept asking “how much longer?“ They are raking people over the coals with these ticket prices. The costumes were sad - cutoff shorts, cheap. Where did “Italia” come from?? At one point they had a transformer come onto the stage, our daughter wanted to see it, but then we learned you had to pay extra to see the transformer up close and then even more $ to take a photo. We do have to hand it to the aerialists, and the trick of the “changing costumes“ was pretty cool. There is definitely some talent in the circus, but the vision for executing such talent is severely lacking. In the end, we were so happy to leave and felt a little embarrassed by how much we had spent for this low-brow, often-boring experience.
