点评：This time of the year is a busy period for many restaurants in Florida. We decided to make a reservation a few hours prior to our arrival. Since this was not on a weekend, a few hours of notice should have been sufficient. Unfortunately, after two separate attempts, the phone calls were never answered. We prefer talking to a person versus the colder approach of online reservation.
We decided to try our luck and showed up right at 4:30pm, which was the opening time for dinner. We were greeted by the owner and asked if we had a reservation. We mentioned that we attempted twice, but the phone was not answered. He stated that that was impossible because he had been there all day. We were still very appreciative because a small table was made available for us.
We started with the octopus appetizer. The octopus was very chewy, an indication that it was not simmered properly prior to finishing on the grill. Onion and olive oil dominated the plate. The flavor was basic, and the presentation was unappealing.
As for the main courses, we ordered the lamb shank and the salmon. The lamb shank was braised in tomatoes and ras el hanout spice blend. By default, this should have been a delicious combination. Unfortunately, the sauce presented my palate with the evidence that it had been reheated at least twice previously. The orzo was properly cooked and texturally pleasing. The salmon was nothing special. The plate presentation was crowded. Both main courses came with a cup of soup each. The lentil soup was potent with flavor of oregano. The avgolemono was pleasantly acidic. Both soups were served piping hot, which we very much appreciated.
Stella's Greek Cusine may promised that they are the only true Greek cuisine in town. Regardless of any promises made, the food needs to deliver upon that promise. They certainly fell short on the delivery department. When paired with lackluster service, this can be detrimental to any hospitality business. It is highly unlikely that we will pay them another visit.
