点评：My cousins wanted to meet up here on a Friday for lunch, because it was a halfway point for us, as well as it came highly recommended. We waited outside for 25 minutes for a table, but this seemed common as there was ice water & coffee set up near our benches.
After being seated our waiter quickly introduced himself and took our drinks order. The interior of the restaurant is clean, open, & cheery, but also noisy and very busy. We ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and they came out quickly and they were oh so good!!
Tyler, our waiter, was very personable & we ended up joking around with him some. After we ordered, we chatted & chatted loudly, just to be able to hear each other. After a while, my stomach was growling and I asked Tyler about our lunch several times and told us, "It'll be out real soon". Well, one hour later we were served our lunch.
Before I ordered the liver & onions, I asked Tyler specifically if it wasn't overcooked. He said "No, never". I teased him & said, "I'll get you if it is!" Well, it was overcooked, but interestingly, Tyler never stopped by to check on our meal. An older woman stopped by and asked us about our meal, and I told her my liver was over cooked. She told me I should've asked for it to be more rare. I told her I had spoken to our waiter when ordering. She asked if she could bring me something else and I told her no, since I had to wait an hour on this meal I didn't want to wait any longer. She said nothing and left. Or if she did say something, I didn't hear her.
Tyler checked on us about how to split our check and we told him for the third time just to divide it evenly. He didn't. He brought our check for the table together, so we put in out cards & one $20 bill which he had trouble figuring out how to bring the change. I ended up giving Tyler a good tip, because it wasn't his fault that the meal was late or overcooked.
I will not be returning to Grumpy's as my visit left me grumpy. Our bill wasn't discounted at all and I found that unacceptable.
