点评:My niece and I have a tradition of celebrating our July birthdays together. I was in Florida visiting and she picked Restaurant Doro at Neptune Beach. The service was exceptional, and the food superb. Our server was most patient with our many questions. The menu is not extensive, but with interesting choices. We split an order of burrata with peaches and tomato jam, topped by a tuile. Boy, was it delicious. If I hadn’t been in a public place, I would have licked the rest of the tomato jam off the plate. After much back and forth about the sea scallop dish, our kind server confirmed that the scallops were dry packed, the natural way to package scallops, not wet packed, where they are soaked in a metallic tasting brine. The scallop dish as over the top fantastic. The three plump scallops were perfectly seared and just slightly translucent in the middle, tasting fresh, sweet and from the sea. The leek and chard vinaigrette was tasty, topped with what I think was truffle dust. The combination was truly sublime. We also split a pan fried chicken breast that was served over greens with guanciale, tomatoes and grana padano. The server brought us a surprise scoop of the sorbet of the day, a perfect combo of basil, strawberry and watermelon.
