Red Ginger Melbourne Square的点评
点评：When we rate places, we rate them according to their category. In other words, just because we rate a supposed 5 star hotel lower than a 2 star doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a worse hotel. It simply means, for its category it didn’t meet the standard.
So when we go to a restaurant like Red Ginger with no expectations of an incredible culinary experience, and it surprises us in a positive way we rate it accordingly. For its category, Red Ginger was surprisingly good and that’s how we’re rating it.
We literally just wanted to put some grub in our bellies at a relatively cheap cost, so we chose Red Ginger. Based on that expectation, Red Ginger way outperformed.
We ordered shrimp spring rolls which, despite being a little greasier than we prefer, were really good and quite substantial. Four of these generous spring rolls was almost a meal in itself at an incredibly fair price.
For entrees, we ordered Mongolian beef and sweet and sour chicken. Both entrees were huge and featured unique flavors. We appreciated that these meals are by no means cookie-cutter, but instead were unique twists on traditional Chinese food fare.
We couldn’t begin to finish either entree, and will enjoy them tomorrow for lunch. Even the fortune cookies were surprisingly good. We always love when a restaurant pleasantly surprises us, and Red Ginger did just that. Two PowerTrippers thumbs up!
