点评：I last reviewed this place about a year ago, and it had always been awesome. The food still is, but over the last few months, the staff has gone waaaay downhill, and they're killing this place. The bagels are still always awesome and fresh, and the prices are reasonable. The owners are very environment & community conscious, even carrying Fair Trade coffee, and donating the contents of the tip jar. Most of the employees are friendly, but many have competence issues...especially with SANITATION! Several times lately, I've had employees go from emptying trash bins or washing windows to trying to make me a sandwich without washing their hands. They seem to think that since they're wearing gloves, it's optional...when they pick up the clean gloves, by the outside of the glove, from the box with their dirty hands. This has happened so often that I finally quietly and politely asked the server if he would please wash his hands before making my meal. He had just been emptying trash bins. He checked with a co-worker to see if he had to, and then was rather nasty afterward. The co-worker was condescending, and tried explaining why hand washing wasn't necessary. I've seen several other examples of poor food sanitation there, and the employees don't seem to have been trained.
Another bad thing is that they tend to run out of the same things EVERY day, but no one seems to adjust the production to prevent it. A crew member told me "We want to run out of everything so we don't have any waste." I said "You would think that you would try to throw out one of everything each day, because that way you never disappoint a customer." The employees sarcastic reply was "MOST customers just get something else if were out of what they want."
I like this place, and their food, but I hope they fix their staff issues. I'll still go there, but not as often, and I watch how they make my food. It's a shame that a few bad people can trash a great place's reputation.
