点评:Have you ever finished a vacation involving many fine meals in different places, and once home remembered ONE special dish? That happened to Maggie and me after a two week trip to Disney World, Amelia Island, and Savannah. The weather was rainy both days on Amelia, and the first night was strange for us. We ended up for an after-dinner drink at The Patio on a rideshare driver's recommendation, and loved the vibe at the bar. The next night we went for dinner.
We started with their signature homemade meatballs, then we both had the blackened grouper served over smoked gouda cheese grits, and topped with mango salsa. The grouper was excellent, and the salsa quite appropriate. But we could not get over the GRITS! The best either of us ever ate. A week later we were reminiscing about the trip, and The Patio, its ambience, food and drink (especially the grits) was the highlight. With a granddaughter in college we will be driving south for some years, and Amelia Island and The Patio At 5th and Ash will be a regular stop!
