点评：I've easily patronized this place a dozen or more times over the last couple of years, & never get tired of the their famous fish sandwich. I spent several decades in the Pittsburgh area where fish sandwiches are abundantly served on Fridays, in biker bars as well as nicer restaurants. The fish here bares no resemblance to the taste of fish & chips served at British establishments. It's a basic fried fish sandwich that tastes great, with a serving size of fish bordering on enormous. Yes it's "greasy" because it's fried, but the taste more than makes up for the large number of calories consumed with this order. I have to surmise that they start with fresh oil in the fryers every day, because all the fried food here always tastes good.
Bantam Chef, environment & atmosphere wise, is a "dive". Except for the kitchen, it's all outdoors in the open, with hard wooden picnic tables if you want to eat here. The tables are rarely cleaned and generally there is always a small line of people who place their orders and leave when their food is ready. Personally, I've never chosen to "dine in" at Bantam Chef, if you call it that.
The fried onion rings here are really good, but the large order size is far from being large. The other food here such as their burgers & hot dogs, are also good eating. If you like fried oysters, you'll probably enjoy their oyster sandwich. Bantam Chef is really a fast food joint without an atmosphere, with inexpensive pricing and good food. If you're like the majority of us who periodically leave this place with take-out orders in hand, you may find the tasty food here can become addictive.
