Not All That….Unless You’re There For The Crabs

点评：We were seated quickly in the back dining room where there was only one other table with people. It took awhile for our waitress to acknowledge us and then a bit more to take our drink order. Apparently she had our table and tables in the “main” dining room. We weren’t in any hurry so no big deal except we were thirsty.
We finally got our drinks and when they were delivered we placed our food order.
The family wanted crabs, I do not eat crabs but being primarily a seafood restaurant and under the advice of others I decided to get the Fisherman’s Platter; because fried flounder and shrimp are the only seafood I will eat.
The crabs came out first which is to be expected, their primary selling dish is crabs.
Mine came out a few minutes later and boy was I stunned at the small portion on the plate of food for $18. The piece of flounder was about 1/4 inch thick and the size of a closed flip phone, 6 small shrimp, 4 scallops, 6 very dry hush puppies and a scoop of coleslaw. There was more coleslaw than anything else.
The flounder was fried nicely and was not overcooked, it could have used some seasoning but it was good. The shrimp were also fried nicely, if I had to guess they had been frozen, I could be wrong, but they had a bit of that taste; they were good. I don’t eat scallops so I gave the to a family member who said they were very good. As mentioned above, the hush puppies were very dry and had a bit of oily taste, yes I know they were fried. The coleslaw was good.
After finishing my meal I was still hungry, because what I ate wouldn’t fill a toddler’s stomach, I got an order of fries. The fries came out fresh and hot and were probably the best thing I ate. Don’t get me wrong the flounder was good there just wasn’t very much of it.
The family that ate the crabs said they were very good and had a lot of flavor. They indicated that one or two were mushy, whatever that means.
I’m not sure that I would go back because it seems that if it’s not crabs the other food may take a backseat. If you are a crab lover then this is the place for you.
