点评:I travelled up from NYC to Nolo, and this is a special pizza joint. In a saturated market for New Haven 'apizz', Nolo is carving their own way with sourdough pies that are a subtle but noticeable improvement. I enjoyed the Rustica and shared some of the Honeypot, both featured crisped edges of high quality cured sausages. The Rustica's burrata was sublimely melted into roasted red peppers, and oil-cured olives were a smart, not too salty addition. Very nice contrast with the Honeypot's fresh mozzarella, with just a little spring left after melting with hot peppers and a truffle honey that wasn't truffle dominant. San Marzano tomatoes would be the crux of both pies if not for the sourdough, and the in-house brewery completes their literally 'cultured' experience. Hannah was very knowledgeable and helpful, and the manager, Greg, was an immediate friend. After touring New Haven's pizza scene, Nolo can hang with any of them, but they don't require hours of waiting outside, and they have parking! I wouldn't be surprised if they have long lines in the near future, but for now it's a no-brainer - superb New Haven pizza & beer, without the lengthy application process.
