George Italian Steakhouse的点评
点评：Went with a friend for dinner on a Thursday. Planned to first have happy hour that is prominently advertised on their website (see photo).
Got to the restaurant where none of the staff, including the bartender, seemed to know anything about happy hour and insisted they don’t have one. (Note the restaurant is less than a year old, so it can’t be due to an out-of-date website or a pre-Covid thing.)
Ordered wine priced at $12 a glass on the menu. Got charged $14 and it was a somewhat stingy pour. (Again the restaurant is very new, so there’s no reason the printed menu shouldn’t be in sync with the actual prices.) We were given a long printed list of the daily specials, at least fifteen items, but with no prices. Asked the server who had no idea and had to go find out the price for each and every item we asked about.
We were there from 5:30 to 7:30 PM on a Thursday and there were only two other couples the entire time we were there. There were literally more staff than customers. It was very awkward, as the staff all stood around kind of staring at us throughout the meal. But at least they were attentive!
On the upside - and the reason this review gets three stars - is that the food was excellent and the portions were generous. And the restaurant is elegant and attractive, with both private lot and valet parking.
On balance, I would give it another try in the future.
