点评：We were on our way back to Denver after a week in Breckenridge when we searched for an interesting restaurant in Idaho Springs that we had not tried before. The reviews we got for Big B’s were quite favorable. This super casual restaurant is just off of I-70 on Colorado Street. You order at the counter and your food is custom crafted just for you. They sell exclusively soups and sandwiches. We each started with a cup of soup ($4.50) from their list of the day’s specials from the chalkboard. I had the Spinach Cheese soup. Lynn had the Broccoli Cheese Soup and my daughter’s boyfriend Jeff had the Green Chili. Everyone of them was delightful. My granddaughter Savannah had a huge Grilled Cheese Sandwich called The Cheesus. My daughter Heather and I each had their special The Big Southwest Turkey sandwich with pepper Jack, green chiles, fried jalapeños and ancho chipotle. It was so good!. Lynn had the Big Philly Cheese sandwich. Most of these sandwiches were on pressed bread like they do to a Cuban Sandwich. A Cuban Sandwich is also on the menu. All of the sandwiches were $11. We all had had soft drinks in huge glasses. The owner was a character and was very proud of his offerings which had won culinary awards. Don’t expect white tablecloths. This place is really casual, but the incredible food and its affable owner earn it my 5 star designation.
