Little Bear Live的点评
点评：My husband and I met at the Little Bear at one of their annual Halloween parties. We have gone back every year, in costume, to celebrate. Sadly last night will likely be our last Halloween trip to the Little Bear. The event seems to have struggled over the past few years, but last night was an enormous disappointment. Rather than being part of a large enthusiastic crowd, we were part of a very limited number of patrons. Several years ago we would need to arrive early just to ensure we could get into the Little Bear. Those days are gone. The cover charge for the Halloween event has increased to $15 per person. Not a bad price for a good evening. Way too much money for the event we experienced last night.
The band was a mediocre cover band and appeared to struggle with their sound system most of the night. One of the band members served as emcee for the costume contest and could not seem to keep the contestants straight. After announcing that one couple was a winner of the first round, he changed his mind and proclaimed another person a winner.
Rather than have different contestants participate in each round of the contest as normal, the judges selected many of the same contestants repeatedly to participate in multiple rounds. Even the bar staff was selected to participate. Obviously there was an objective of having certain individuals win the contest which was a trip to Mexico. As people began to notice what was happening, they began leaving early to go to other bars.
Things have sure changed at the Little Bear and it appears s to be an end of an era. At least it is for us.
