加赫帕彻瓦尔堡酒店的点评
点评：This is a difficult review for me to write. You can click on my name and see that I generally write very positive reviews. If I had a poor meal or experience, I generally don’t want to comment, just believing it could have been an off day.
However, since my experience here differed so much from most of the reviews and pictures that I feel that I have to comment so that travelers can understand that they might not have an experience that reflects the Trip Advisor rating.
I stayed one night here as part of a tour group. The arrival was so nice with petals showered upon us. As this is a heritage property, of course there would be differences in rooms and I completely understand that. I also understand that they are going through renovations. Even now, I don’t know if my room was considered renovated.
There was a lot of renovation materials and varnish cans in front of my room which led to a negative first impression. On a side note, I really liked the unique doors and locks even though they were a bit of a pain. The air conditioning worked really well. However, the rug leading to my bathroom was absolutely filthy. The bathroom had many open electrical spaces and since it was an entire “wet room” with the shower, I did not want to shower so as not to have any water on the floor. There were spider webs in the corners. The room was poorly covered in some kind of plastic paneling. The bed was fine. Although there should be WiFi, there wasn’t (get an e-sim when you travel).
Because of the location, I believe the hotel is the only option for food. The lunch was very basic. I was extremely tired, so I missed the dinner so cannot comment on that. The breakfast was also very basic and only instant coffee was available. There is a pool in a nice area but the water was murky so no one in our group went swimming.
While I respect the effort and expense that it must take for this renovation, I don’t believe the property is ready to accept guests, particularly those traveling on an upgraded tour. Unfortunately, some others in our group also had poor experiences.
I have two basic requirements for a hotel room - it must be clean and feel safe - and this one was neither.
