点评：San Juan Capistrano has come a long way with wonderful eateries. Just when we thought we had been to most we discover The Ramos House Cafe. And what a treat! The fact that they are only open 9am to 2:30pm is most likely why we had not been there. But today we were meeting an old friend who came by train from San Diego. The train stops right there & you merely need to walk across the tracks to the charming little village on Los Rios Street where beautiful historical cottages house interesting arts & crafts shops & restaurants. It is so very charming.
Mostly all that is served is locally grown & organic. Seafood is fresh. Chickens & eggs are cage-free. The dishes are beautiful & absolutely delicious! Our friend ordered the beef stew with roasted root vegetables..hearty & rich. My husband had the grilled oysters(6) with chipotle bourbon butter. Again very good. I ordered the Cajun shrimp tacos(3) with frisée, grilled corn & avocado crema. You had a choice of flour or corn tortillas. Messy but so delicious. There are many assorted egg dishes & hash dishes. Definitely ordering the crab hash next time. There’s a special soup of the day, extra side dishes & of course, dessert. Plus a very interesting wine, cocktails & beer menu.
Ambiance is charming & romantic as it’s all outdoors, just partially covered. You will love the eclectic bathroom! Service was fabulous & everyone so helpful & nice. Don’t miss this one! There is free public parking a block away.
