The Loft的点评
点评：We - a family of three - were guests of The Montage Laguna Beach for two nights in July 2024 in one of their nice appointed suites. A great hotel by the way!
We were looking forward to experience their upscale and much revered Loft gourmet restaurant, so we have reserved a table for dinner.
We were greeted and led to the table by Mrs Monet (when I’ve asked for her name she just told me one like some
music or Hollywood stars and I did ask “like the painter?” And she did say “yes” so, if the spelling is wrong is not my fault).
Imagine your worse nightmare table, equally close to the kitchen and the restroom and in the darkest corner of the restaurant (which, by the way, features a gorgeous and generous terrace facing the ocean) neighboring the unused breakfast buffet table. It was so sorry looking and so sordid that I had to tell Monet that I would never sit and have dinner at that table in a million years, especially as we have passed on our way to it a few better situated empty ones. It was literally the worse table in the restaurant. She just shrugged and told me coldly that it’s the only table she can offer at that time. As I was sure that this statement was not true, I had no other solution but give it all up and just leave.
That was our experience. I know it sounds dumb, but I swear to you, no one would have accept to be seated at that awful table. Unfortunately hosts like Monet have this unfair power to ruin one’s evening.
