点评:Decided to eat on site on first night of 2 night stay. It was my birthday and I noted that in our reservation. Hostess greeted me with Happy Birthday and led us to our table (ocean view blocked by wall), next to large group attending convention at the hotel. This group proved to be so loud that we could not even hear each other to converse. We asked about switching tables, but were told that any table we might move to could have a large group nearby because of the convention. So, we decided to make the best of it and stick it out. Our server was very friendly and worked very hard to service a very busy dining room.
As one would expect at the Ritz, prices are quite high. I had a chicken breast that was very nicely presented, but perhaps the most expensive chicken breast I have ever eaten at around $40. Nothing special. My husband had the cioppino, which was perhaps the best thing on the menu. Service was slow. We ordered dessert and waited, and waited and reached the point where the group next to us was so obnoxious that we couldn't stand it any more. We got up to leave and started walking out. Our server came running after us and seated us in the library area in front of the fire and served a complimentary birthday dessert. Good efforts on his part, but the evening was pretty much ruined.
If there were not a convention at the hotel, I could see where this would be a very pleasant, but (predictably) expensive place to dine.
